Date Of Origin: Early 2000s
The Billy or sometimes called “The Flaming Engineer” is a very popular drink among engineering students at Ryerson. It was invented by some Ryerson engineering students in the early 2000s and has been a staple on campus ever since. It’s a refreshing way to celebrate the end of a semester, a good (or bad) midterm, or to share with your friends after a long day of schoolwork. The drink can be found at our campus pub, The Ram in the Rye, as well as bars in the surrounding area.
To make the drink at home you will need the following:
12 oz Molson® Canadian beer
1 oz Amaretto Di Saronno® liqueur
1 oz Canadian Club® whisky
6 oz orange juice
Pour the Molson Canadian beer into a 20-oz glass. Add the amaretto almond liqueur and Canadian Club whisky. Fill with orange juice, and serve.
